And it's done! (almost - we are waiting on a few minor items, but everything major is now done!) Wow! It turned out better than we could have expected!

The peninsula adds much needed storage... and is a work of art unto itself! (It's Italian porcelain tile with granite inlay.)

Six Months around Thanksgiving... Some of my shirts were already getting tight, but at least my toe nails looked gorgeous with the pedicure.

This is my Birthday present from Melissa! I now have the coolest art in all of the 4th floor lab... maybe even all of Barton Hall...

This is the official before picture. What you don't see is the wane's coating, 5 layers of pealing wall paper, limited florescent lighting, and complete lack of a pantry or storage space. (the rest of the room is empty).

Kitchen Remodel: Here's my "workshop."

 

There must be something strange about havign a kid. I hate soup. I never make soup. Yet, this (PepperFool.com Soup Recipes...Potato,Leek,Broccoli Soup) is the 3rd soup that i've made this week and I love it. (I used homemade chicken stock mixed with cream of chicken soup in place of the stock and 1/2 precooked the potatoes in H2O so minimize the necessary fluid.) Added dash of cayenne pepper instead of brand name stuff. Yumm. Just enough heat to be warm.

I am standing at the sink looking toward the fall wall. The new pantry and telephone center is on the right. The new island/penninsula is on the left.
 

New recessed lighting and task lighting. New cabinet doors are ordered. To do: paint cabinets. Wait for new countertop. BTW: The island and backsplash will be an awesome Italian tile with granite inlay.
 

New lighting. New walls. New Art. New pantry. New island. Waiting on the countertops, but we love the cardboard.
